Nigeria, Abeokuta – The Chairman, Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Envg. Ifede Olamilekan, has revealed that the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has given his nod for the recruitment of 1, 655 teachers by the Commission, to boost manpower of the education sector.
Olamilekan made this known during the Treasury Board meeting, at Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
He said the approval would address the shortage of teachers across the State, appealing to the Governor to look into the issue of provision of vehicles for easy monitoring of schools, particularly in the rural areas.
The TESCOM boss, according to the Commission spokesperson, Adeniyi Akinbobola appreciated the Governor for the approval of N22.757 billion as its budget proposal for the next fiscal year, saying the board members would ensure they meet up with the targeted Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), for the year 2021, as well as achieve the set goals of the Commission.
