Nigeria – The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has charged the Institute of Chartered Secretries and Administrators of Nigeria to continue to promote excellence and professionalism amongst their members.
Mrs Salako-Oyedele gave the charge at the Investiture of the 28th President/ Chairman of the institute, Mr Taiwo Gbenga Owokalade, held at Muson centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The Deputy Governor, represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr Kehinde Onasanya, described the newly elected president of the institute, Mr Taiwo Gbenga Owokalade, as a distinguish son of the soil with Sterling qualities which is very gemane in moving the institute forward.
According to her, the rich professional background and pedigree of Mr Owokalade would enable him to deliver the mandate, charging him to focus more on capacity building through various training and retraining of members, pointing out that this would contribute immensely to achieving the corporate goals of the body and the development of professionalism among members.
“Your Institute is a hub of professionals with the goal of enhancing the status of corporate governance and administration, you must strive to keep the flag flying in this direction”, she said.
Engineer Salako Oyedele also enjoined the Council members to give the necessary support to the new President in order to break new grounds and surpassed past achievements of his predecessors.
The immediate Past President of the Institute, Mr Bode Ayeku, in his speech, congratulate his successor, Mr Taiwo Gbenga Owokalade on his appointment as the newly elected president/ chairman of their great institute, saying that Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) is a leading and recognized professional body in Nigeria that is dedicated to enhancing the status and practice of Corporate Governance and Public Administration.
He noted that the election of the new president was a demonstration of great Capacity and outstanding qualities, pledging the support of members to a successful tenure of office.
In his response, the newly elected President, Mr Taiwo Owokalade assured that his tenure of office would witness a number of reforms in the area of training and retraining of members to enhance professionalism, membership drive and revenue generation, adding that the corporate goals shall be pursued with vigour.
He thanked Engineer Noimot Salako Oyedele for the honour and words of encouragement assuring that he would not disappoint her.
