Nigeria, Kwara – The State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State capital has sacked the All Progressives Congress lawmaker representing Patigi State Constituency in the House of Assembly of Kwara State, Ahmed Rufai Adam.
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate in the recent Patigi bye election, Salihu Mohammad Yahaya had challenged Rufai’s victory at the tribunal alleging irregularities in some of documents he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The tribunal declared PDP candidate, Salihu Mohammed winner of the bye-election.
Meanwhile, Kwara state APC has rejected the judgment vowing to appeal the verdict.
